I trained as a Broadcast Journalist at Staffordshire University and got a 1st class honours degree which is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council. After university I spent some time freelancing for ITV Central.
I moved to London and joined BBC News in 2008 as a Picture Producer and Media Coordinator, working in their Newswire department. I was responsible for cutting up floats for UK and Global distribution. I was the first to see breaking news pictures, making sure they were suitable to be broadcast on TV. I controlled news feeds from around the world, looking after some of the most memorable events in recent history including the 2008 Mumbai Attack, US Presidential Elections, Georgina War and Haiti Earthquakes.
At the start of 2009 I moved over to be part of the BBC Breakfast team as a Assistant Producer. Whilst there I produced the running of the live show in studio, looked after some very high profile celebrities, updated all the online content for our Breakfast website and our social media resources such as Facebook. I worked my way up to Producer, in charge of some amazing events and outside broadcasts. Highlights include The General Election from College Green, Angelina Jolie at the ‘Salt’ premiere, Wimbledon 2009 and 2010, The Chelsea Flower Show, an exclusive interview with all four of the Sex and the City 2 stars and meeting football legend Eric Cantona. For more information and pictures of my time on BBC Breakfast please look at that page.
Now I freelance and have worked at for some of the biggest music events in the UK. Please look at all my other pages for more information. Thanks for reading.
